Prices
Where do the prices come from?
Every item has a listed Richmond price in our catalog. Your photo is matched against that list, and the quote shows each line before you decide.
Is there a minimum charge?
Yes, $75. A single queen mattress ($103) or one armchair ($77) already clears it.
Do basements and walk-ups cost more?
No. An English basement, a third-floor apartment and a ground-floor garage are all the same price for the same items.
Does a same-day pickup cost extra?
No. When a crew can come today, the quote doesn’t change.
How are big cleanouts priced?
By how much of the 16-cubic-yard truck the load fills, from $241 for a quarter to $732 for the whole truck. The quote compares that with the item-by-item total and uses whichever is less.
Booking and Pickup Day
How far ahead do I need to book?
Often you don’t — same or next day is common when crews have room. Rural addresses at the edge of the service area are scheduled around routes.
Can the crew come while I’m at work?
Yes. Leave the items in an unlocked garage or share access, and you’ll get photos when the job is done.
Who does the hauling?
Vetted, insured local crews working through JunkRabbit. You deal with us for the quote, booking and payment.
Can property managers set up recurring turnovers?
Yes. Each unit or address can be quoted on its own, which keeps the costs separate for each owner.
What We Haul
Do you take carpet and drywall?
Yes — the things the City’s bulk truck refuses. Carpet is $71 per room and drywall $37 per sheet or small bundle.
Can you take leftover paint?
Yes, at its own price because of the handling: $30 for a one-gallon can and $52 for a five-gallon bucket.
Do you haul tires?
Yes: $22 for one tire, $87 for four.
Where does everything end up?
Furniture that can be reused is donated first; appliances have their refrigerant recovered and metal recycled; electronics go to recyclers; whatever remains goes to licensed disposal.
Local Pickup Programs
My mail says Richmond. Am I in the City?
Not necessarily. Many “Richmond” addresses are actually Henrico or Chesterfield. The City runs bulk and brush every other week; Henrico uses a paid contractor with pickup within 14 days; Chesterfield and Hanover have their own arrangements.
What won’t the City’s bulk and brush take?
Construction debris, carpet, drywall, bricks, pipes, tires without rims, auto parts, paint, gas or propane tanks and lawn mowers, plus anything longer than four feet.
