Junk Removal Carytown

Junk Removal in
Carytown

Richmond's "mile of shops" is really two jobs on one street — the storefronts and restaurants of the West Cary strip clearing out fixtures between tenants, and the apartments tucked above and behind them turning over renters. We do both, on a flat photo-quoted price, and we plan the truck spot around the strip's tight on-street loading so we're never in the way of a Saturday crowd. Same-day is usually open, and there's no Virginia sales tax on the service.

One street, two very different clear-outs

Carytown runs roughly nine blocks of West Cary Street from Boulevard to Thompson — independent stores, restaurants, and the 1928 Byrd Theatre movie palace, with apartments and small rowhouses stacked above and behind the storefronts. Turnover is constant on both sides, and each side is its own kind of haul. On the commercial strip it's storefront and restaurant clear-outs: display shelving, counters and register stations, dressing-room fixtures, walk-in and reach-in coolers, prep tables, booths, and the rest of the FF&E a shop or kitchen leaves behind when the lease ends. Above and around it, it's apartment move-outs — the sofa, the mattress, the dresser, the whole unit — carried down from a second- or third-floor walk-up to a truck on the street.

We price every version of it the same way: send a photo, get one flat number that already covers the labor, the truck, the disposal, and the drive. No walkthrough, no "call for a quote," no day-of upcharge. And because Cary Street is on-street parking only along a busy retail corridor, we treat the loading window as part of the job — booking an early or off-peak slot when we can so the truck isn't parked in front of a store during its best hours.

What we haul out of Carytown

  • Storefront fixture & FF&E clear-outs — shelving, racks, counters, display cases, mannequins, and back-of-house shelving when a shop closes or refits.
  • Restaurant & café equipment — booths, tables and chairs, prep counters, reach-in coolers, and old furniture out of a kitchen changeover.
  • Apartment move-outs — sofas, mattresses, dressers, and whole-unit clears from the flats above and the rowhouses on the side streets.
  • Single heavy pieces — a sleeper sofa or a sectional carried down a narrow interior stair, not left in the hallway.
  • Appliances — mini-fridges, ranges, and washers, with the metal recycled and any freon recovered.

Does the City of Richmond pick up on Cary Street?

Only in the most limited way. The City's free Bulk & Brush program (DPW, 804-646-6430 or 3-1-1) is a residential, curbside, biweekly service tied to your recycling week — you drag everything to the curb the night before and wait up to two weeks. For a Carytown storefront it doesn't apply at all — commercial FF&E isn't a residential curbside item — and for the apartments above the shops it means hauling a mattress and a sofa down to a busy retail sidewalk and hoping the pickup lands before your lease is up. We're the same-day, full-service alternative: we carry it out of the unit or the store ourselves, on a scheduled flat price, so nothing ever sits on Cary Street.

What Carytown customers say

★★★★★

"Closed my shop on Cary and had a week to hand back an empty space. They cleared the shelving, counters, and back stock in one flat-priced trip, worked an early window so they weren't blocking the block. Broom-clean."

— Dana R., Carytown retailer
★★★★★

"Third-floor apartment above the storefronts, no elevator. They carried the couch and two mattresses down the interior stairs and dealt with the street parking themselves. Flat price from a photo, done same-day."

— Marcus B., Carytown
★★★★★

"Restaurant refit — old booths, prep tables, a dead reach-in cooler. They pulled it all out between services and hauled it, no surprise fees. Exactly the flat number they quoted."

— Priya N., Cary St café
