Bon Air & North Chesterfield
Just over the city's southern line into Chesterfield — a leafy, easy-access suburb of driveways, garages, and roomy lots, where the old streetcar resort of Bon Air grew into blocks of mid-century and newer homes. No rowhouse carry, no cobblestones: we load straight from the garage and nothing ever sits at the curb. Garage, estate, and whole-home cleanouts at one flat photo-quoted price — same-day when you need it, HOA-friendly, and no Virginia sales tax on the service.
Easy-access suburban cleanouts, just over the county line
Bon Air (23235) started life as a late-1800s streetcar and resort suburb south of the James, and it grew into one of the metro's most comfortable inner-Chesterfield neighborhoods — a mix of mid-century and newer single-family homes with driveways, attached and detached garages, and some basements, wrapped by the postwar and newer subdivisions of North Chesterfield. It's an easy place to work. Where the city's Fan and Church Hill jobs mean carrying furniture out to a truck parked on a narrow street, here we can back up to the garage, pull the doors open, and load straight from the driveway — quick, clean, and with nothing staged where the neighbors (or the HOA) would notice.
The households are mostly established families and downsizers, so the work is the classic suburban set: a garage that filled up over the years, an estate or whole-home clear when someone moves on, and the heavy backyard and basement items nobody wants to wrestle. We price all of it the same way — send a photo, get a flat number that already covers the labor, the truck, the disposal, and the drive. No hourly meter, no day-of upcharge. Bon Air and North Chesterfield are our south-of-the-river volume complement to Midlothian, and same-day is usually available.
What we clear in Bon Air & North Chesterfield
- Garage cleanouts — years of tools, boxes, lawn gear, old furniture, and gym equipment, loaded straight from the garage.
- Estate & whole-home clears — a full house emptied room by room, donation-routed, scheduled around the family or the sale.
- Basement clear-outs — the some-homes-have-them below-grade storage, carried up and out.
- Heavy backyard items — hot tubs, riding mowers, grills, patio sets, and playsets, broken down and hauled.
- Appliances & single pieces — fridges, washers, dryers, treadmills, and single furniture, priced per item.
Loaded from the garage — nothing at the curb
The suburban version of our promise is the mirror image of the city one. In the Fan we say "we carry it out front so you don't drag it to the curb." Out here in Bon Air and North Chesterfield, where many streets sit under an HOA that doesn't want bulk left at the curb, the promise is: nothing goes to the curb at all. We pull up the driveway, open the garage, and load everything straight from where it sits — the garage, the basement, the backyard, the house — onto the truck, on a scheduled flat-price pickup. There's no pile forming out front for days waiting on a collection, nothing for a neighbor to complain about, and nothing for the HOA to flag. With the driveway and garage right there, it's usually the fastest kind of job we do. If it's specifically the garage you're after, our Richmond garage cleanout scope covers exactly this, and for a full-house clear see our estate cleanout page.

Does Chesterfield pick up bulk in Bon Air?
Not the way the City of Richmond does. Bon Air and North Chesterfield are in Chesterfield County, which doesn't run the City's free biweekly curbside Bulk & Brush collection — county residents generally self-haul bulky items to a convenience or collection center, or hire a private hauler, and in the meantime most HOAs won't let you stage furniture or appliances at the curb at all. So the "free" option means loading a heavy sofa or a dead fridge into your own vehicle, driving it across the county, and unloading it yourself — assuming the item is even accepted and you have a truck to move it. That's a lot of Saturday for one couch. We're the do-none-of-that alternative: photo-quoted flat price, we load it from the garage, we haul it, we recycle and donate what we can, and nothing ever touches the curb.

"Cleared my parents' home in North Chesterfield when they downsized — every room, the basement, the garage. Careful, patient, donated what they could, one fair flat number. A real weight off."
"Old hot tub and a riding mower out of the backyard. They broke down the tub, hauled the mower, and left the yard clean. Quoted straight from my photos, no surprises."
